Fall in Love with the Rubaiyat Gallery for Timeless, Handcrafted Works of Art

Rubaiyat, an impressive gallery of handcrafted gifts and decor, first graced the city of Calgary with local art starting in 1973, but they didn't stop there.

Originally carrying handcrafted items from Canada alone, Rubaiyat has continued expanding their collections to now represent hundreds of artists worldwide, and have been displaying and selling Katherine's Collection for close to thirty years.

David Haight, along with his family, own and operate the now 8500-square-foot gallery. They house thousands of artful objects, including outdoor furnishings, original stained glass, pottery, garden accessories, and of course, Christmas decor.

To get noticed you have to have some over the top things, and Katherine’s always comes through with that.

By late September, the whole store undergoes an incredible transformation as giant holiday displays and festive items adorn the extensive gallery. David tells us that "To get noticed you have to have some over the top things, and Katherine's always comes through with that."

David reveals that through the hard work of the Katherine's team, as well as dedication to setting up the extraordinary collectibles properly, customers find the inspiration they need for their own homes. "Katherine's generally makes the two front windows, and many come to see them once they're done . . . They come from all over the world," he explains.

For other retailers who are thinking about carrying gifts and decor from Katherine's, David offers experienced encouragement to take advantage of the themes as "avenues for display, and not just product." He conveys how much the different collectibles can add to a space, even if they are used initially as showcase pieces to entice their patrons and enhance the Christmas spirit.

You can find the adornments of Katherine's Collection, as well as a wealth of other captivating features, at the stunning Rubaiyat gallery in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where David and his family bring the gift of original art in all its forms to the world.
